After a failure with Dempster Highway we headed for Dawson City, feeling sad and disappointed.
Day 3. Mezadin Lake Provincial Park – Tagish, Yukon. 924 km The night was cold in the really windy. But I have used a little trick that I’ve learned from more experienced travelers. If you put a car between the wind and your tent, it will create a wind shadow for your tent, and the wind will not bother you as much. And it really saved my night. I slept like a baby!
The spring is coming closer and closer. And it means that hiking season is not that far away now! Just about the right time to start getting into shape and start getting a taste of beauties in Beautiful British Columbia.
Last week’s traditional Saturday trip took me to the south of Vancouver. I have been to north and east of Vancouver, I was curious to see what lies south of our great city.
When I get to a new city, I always try to get to the highest point and take a look at the city from the top. There are several high observation points in Vancouver area, but I was waiting for good weather to enjoy it.
When I visited a community of Deep Cove last weekend, I decided to drive up the mt Seymour, and I had an amazing bonus to my trip!
Today my traditional weekend getaway brought me to the Deep Cove , both community and bay. Located only 13 km from downtown Vancovuer, it attracts visitors with numerous recreational activities – hiking, kayaking, sailing, cycling, etc.
I am very impressed with beauty of nature in British Columbia. I could never think that spectacular views of mountains could be so abundant within big city; that so many lakes, waterfront parks and trails could be just a 20 minute drive from busy downtown with skyscrapers. I try to explore and discover more of it whe I have a slightest chance.
Greetings from Western Canada! As I am getting settled in Vancouver, I would like to share some photos with you!
Another destination for my last trip to the US was its capital – Washington D.C. This city is one of my top interests in the States!
