Day 6. Dawson City, YT – Big Creek Government Campground, YT, 907 km. We left Dawson early morning and headed back. This day we were backtracking the way we arrived – Klondike Highway to Whitehorse, then follow Alaska Highway. But instead of going back to Vancouver the same way, we decided to make a detour via Alberta! We made it almost to the junction with Stewart-Cassiar Highway, the place where we joined the Alaska highway just a few days ago….
After a failure with Dempster Highway we headed for Dawson City, feeling sad and disappointed.
Day 3. Mezadin Lake Provincial Park – Tagish, Yukon. 924 km The night was cold in the really windy. But I have used a little trick that I’ve learned from more experienced travelers. If you put a car between the wind and your tent, it will create a wind shadow for your tent, and the wind will not bother you as much. And it really saved my night. I slept like a baby!
This was supposed to be a very special trip for me. First, I have been dreaming about traveling North for many years. Second, I took my vacation during my dad’s visit. I have not seen him since I moved to Canada two years ago. Is there a better way to spend time with your dad, who is just as passionate about traveling by car as me, than taking a two-week trip together to some of the world’s most amazing places?
I finally had my long-awaited vacation. It is no surprise I decided to spend it exploring Canada in my favorite way – from the road.
The spring is coming closer and closer. And it means that hiking season is not that far away now! Just about the right time to start getting into shape and start getting a taste of beauties in Beautiful British Columbia.
It has been six months since I started a trip that I dreamed about for many years. I crossed Canada on a car from Montreal to Vancouver. I still clearly remember all those amazing places I have seen on my way, and all emotions they gave me.
I decided to broaden my blogging horizons a little bit and start shooting some video! Here is a first video. The opportunity was perfect – after dark, rainy and snowy days – sunny and warm Monday on a long weekend! Could you wish more for a road trip?
This weekend’s road trip brought me to a small resort town of Harrison Hot Springs. Beautiful little town and amazon park on a lake shore. I bet in summer it is ever more awesome!
One of my favourite ways to spend my free time is driving scenic routes. Just drive, no destination, nowhere to hurry, no timetable. Often I find incredible places that get in my memory forever.
