The strongest feeling for me in Canada is a feeling of discovery. A totally new land where I have never been before. I feel a strong wanderlust, which many travelers define as “strong and irresistible desire to travel and discover the world”. So I talked to my friends, and we agreed what we will discover next. The capital of Quebec, the Quebec City.

Quebec in summer is a land of festivals. One of the most famous among them is the hot air balloon festival in St-Jean-Sur-Richilieu, which is held each year southeast from Montreal. It is the largest festival of its type in Canada. It is held each year since 1984. It attract numerous participants from all over the world and many spectators. This year there were balloons from Canada, USA, Brazil, and Belgium.

Now I live in Montreal so I pretty much have an idea of what the life is like here. But in my opinion, seeing life in a big city is not enough to understand the country, people’s lives. I think that true understanding comes from seeing small towns, farms, gas stations, countryside.. Seeing a country from the road.
